Transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train from Hanoi to Laocai.

Arriving in Laocai early in the morning, then drive to see the weekly market (see the reference list bellow).
Option 1. Tuesday: COC LY MARKET
After having breakfast, you will travel by car to Coc Ly, which is 70 km Northeast of Lao Cai. The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai. It will take you through rural area. The road is rougher for the last 30km. You arrive in Coc Ly by the time where the market is the most crowded.
Coc Ly market locates by the Chay River, which flows from China. Every Tuesday morning, minorities from surrounding villages such as Flower Hmong, Black Zao and Tay, gather to sell and buy their products. After visiting the market, you travel by boat downstream. Along the ride, you can enjoy magnificent sight of the beautiful caves and life on the riverbank. You will have lunch on a beach or later in a village.
The trip will also offers you a visit to Trung Do village of Tay minority, where you can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea. You will go further downstream until you arrive to Bao Nhai Bridge. Take the 2,5 hours drive to Sapa.
After having breakfast, you will travel by car to Cao Son Market, which is 90 km Northeast of Lao Cai. You will enjoy beautiful scenery along the ride until you arrive in Muong Khuong. From there, you turn in a dirt road, which goes up in mountains. The tinny market is surrounded by pine trees forests and villages. Flower Hmong, Tu Di, Tay and Giay ethnic minorities come to buy and sell local products such as food and material for agriculture and fabric. After exploring the market, you will be able to visit a village of Flower Hmong. You will then head back to Muong Khuong for lunch before diving to Sapa.
You will then visit a village of Tay people, where you have opportunity to explore their daily life. You can make a stop nearby a waterfall before you get on the car for the journey to Sapa.
Overnight in Sapa.
This morning, we have chance to explore the villages of different ethnic groups around Sapa. First, we take very beautiful drive from Sapa to the villages along the valley of Muong Hoa. The scenery like a painting of Mother Nature with the fields on the terrace, waterfall on the hill side, the green of the vegetation, a winding stream down below and the air is so fresh and pure. Our first stop is at Y Linh Ho – village of the H’mong people. It is said that H’mong was one of the first immigrants to this area and famous for their hand weaving and terrace rice field in Sapa. Take a beautiful trek to Lao Chai – the other village of Mong. We take a walk around the village and to the village of Ta Van of the Giay people via the terraces rice field and the trails, experience the diversity of hill tribe people there. After that, you will be transferred back to Sapa by car for lunch at local restaurant. The rest of the day is on your own arrangements. You can choose to do some shopping in town, or you should not miss the visit up to Ham Rong Mountain where you can admire the view of Fansipan, “the roof-top of South East Asia” as well as the romantic view of the whole town in the mist.

You have the whole morning to relax and discover Sapa or taking another hike to Cat Cat and Sin Chai Village. Check out hotel before noon and enjoy lunch at local Restaurant. After lunch at Cha Pa – the first restaurant in Sapa, drive to Ta Phin – the village of Red Dzao people. Take a beautiful hike in the village area then drive down to Lao Cai for the train back to Hanoi.
