DAY 1: ARRIVAL – SAIGON

Upon arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, you will meet your guide and transfer to your hotel in Saigon. In the afternoon, our guide will take you for an orientation walk along Dong Khoi and Nguyen Hue streets where you can get the great view of famous city hall in Saigon.

Evening, we will welcome you the best show in Saigon – A OH SHOW – by Lune Production is a vibrant artistic performance that features optical illusions and impressive acrobatics. It is held at the iconic Saigon Opera House in Saigon. The live show is paired with traditional music performances by a troupe of talented local artists.

A O Show by Lune Production is also known as the Cirque Du Soleil of Vietnam, but without flashy outfits. The one-hour show depicts the transition of rural Vietnam to today’s modern landscape. Performers use a variety of props such as giant woven baskets and ropes. Some parts of the show gets your heart racing as dancers perform gravity-defying acts such as balancing on top of real bamboos. After show, back to hotel.

DAY 2: SAIGON – CU CHI TUNNELS – CITY TOUR

Morning drive to Cu Chi, the famous network of tunnels were used as the base from which the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi Tunnels consist of more than 250km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels, the tunnels are between 0.5 to 1m wide, just enough for a person to crawl along. Transfer back to Saigon. Then take a tour Ngoc Hoang Pagoda, where hundreds of local people come and burn the incense for their luck, prosperity and happiness. After that, visit History Museum, where you can see great outline of the 4000 years history of the country.

DAY 3: SAIGON – CAI BE – VINH LONG – CAN THO

This is an ideal option for those who wish to have a real experience on the landscape, local people, and rich culture of the Mekong Delta. The tour will be incomplete without cycling on narrow road along small side canal to visit the local traditional handicrafts.

A 2-hour drive southwest from Saigon will take you to the Mekong Delta, the largest rice basket of the country with friendly farmers who always wave hello when you come across. This tour will offer you a chance to explore the unique lifestyle and culture at the Cai Be land as well as traditional handicrafts on Tan Phong Island. The most special thing about this tour you will feel relaxed and excited while cruising along the river is to take a deeply insight into the great combination of local cultures and sceneries in this gorgeous water way region. It’s all sure to bring you unforgettable moments ever. Board your wooden charming boat, the Mekong Queen, at Ba Ton’s local pier and start cruising on Mekong River while sampling local fresh fruits, letting the cool breeze touch your hair, you will find the place a truly destination to spend the day relaxing. Leave the boat for a while to visit the local business where you can interact with the local people to learn more about their daily life. Continue with your boat through the “heart” of the town’s trading activities with lots of lots of floating vendors lining up their boats in the middle of the river with their agricultural products hung on bamboo poles. This is not the biggest floating market but it is good to understand the life of the river, one of the tourist magnets of the Mekong Delta. Disembark the boat when reaching Tan Phong Island where you will start a very interesting cycling tour through small village shady road. You will be surprised by the way the locals trade and advertise their local products. Ride along the concrete road of 1m width, you will take the opportunities to visit local families of making traditional products such as handicraft items made from water hyacinth; house roof made from palm leaves; hammock made from coconut ropes; rice papers; and local hats. After a sad farewell to your crews, enjoy a home-hosted lunch with Mekong Delta specialties at an ancient house before driving back to Saigon.

Note: Motorbike will be an option for those who can’t bike. Guests ride as passenger behind a safe motorbike driver.

Detailed itinerary:
– 07:30 am: Depart from Saigon
– 09:30 am: Arrive at Ba Ton Bridge and start boarding the Mekong Queen
– 09:45 am: Stop to visit the local rice wine making family (nhà nấu rượu)
– 09:55 am: Continue your cruise to the local rice husking factory (nhà chà lúa thô sơ)
– 10:30 am: Stop for a quick visit of a local brick factory (subject to availability)
– 10:40 am: Board the cruise passing by Cai Be floating market and onto Tan Phong Island
– 11:30 am: Start a leisure 45’ cycling trip with stops en route to visit the local handicraft making families.
– 12:30 pm: Embark on the Mekong Queen for a 15min cruise to the mainland.
– 01:00 pm: Enjoy lunch at an ancient house. Check out and transfer to Can Tho

DAY 4: CAN THO – CHAU DOC

Morning take the early boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market where local people whole sale all product of Mekong Delta. It will be great chance for taking part to the local activities and taking pictures. The boat will take you around the floating market 2 times to make sure that you will have enough opportunities for taking photos here. Then the boat will take you to visit the local bustling inland market where you can see all local products of Mekong Delta selling here. From the market, take the short ride on boat to the small local alley that you can walk along and experience the real daily life activities of local people here. Take the pleasant walk along the local village by the river bank and integrate with local people there before getting to local Rice Processing Factory. You will know exactly how the white rice had been made from paddy rice in here.  From here walk back to the car then transfer to Sao Hom Restaurant for lunch.

Then drive to Chau Doc, visit Tra Su Bird Sanctuary, a protected National Park in the Mekong Delta region. About an hour’s drive away, you will enter a beautiful and well preserved flooded forest area. Take a boat ride to the middle of forest to observe various kinds of birds like Stork, Heron, Waterhen or Kingfisher.  Head up to a 23 m high observation tower where you can have a panoramic view of canopy trees and flocks of birds.

DAY 5: CHAU DOC – PHNOM PENH

07h00: speed boat departs

13:00 – 13:30 : Arrival at Sisowath Quay International Port Phnompenh ( arrival time may vary due to current and immigration formalities ) . Upon arrival, our guide and driver will pick you up at the Quay and transfer to visit : Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda

DAY 6: PHNOM PENH TOUR

Today, we will visit the National Museum. Housed in a beautiful traditional building, it contains many outstanding examples of Khmer craftsmanship. Explore Wat Phnom, a peaceful temple situated on a hill for which the city is named. According to legend, a 14th-century woman named Penh found sacred Buddhist objects in the nearby river and placed them here on the small hill.

Then head out to the Choeung Ek Memorial, where a stupa made up of some 8,000 human skulls marks the site of the infamous Killing Fields. This was the execution ground for the torture victims of Tuol Sleng and standing in this peaceful setting it’s almost unthinkable to imagine that to date nearly 9000 corpses have been exhumed from the area. Confront Cambodia’s tragic past on a guided tour of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school which served as a Khmer Rouge torture centre. It’s estimated that more than 20,000 people were held and tortured here.

DAY 7: PHNOM PENH – SAMBOR PREI KUK

Meet with tour guide and transfer to the Kampong Thom via Kampong Cham by private car. On the way stop to visit Skun.

Kampong Cham is a lively port on the banks of the Mekong River with some good examples of colonial-era architecture. After visiting the Local Market and exploring the town, travel in to the countryside to Phnom Pros (“Man Hill”) and Phnom Srei (“Woman Hill”). According to local tradition, two teams of men and women competed to build a stupa on the summit of each hill before dawn. After being tricked into thinking that daybreak had already come, the men lost the competition and, as a result, forever after had to be the ones to approach the women for their hands in marriage. Continue to Wat Norkor Bacheay, a thriving modern-day monastery founded on a 11th century Mahayana Buddhist shrine.

By vehicle from Kampong Cham to Kampong Thom (138KM from Kampong Cham).

Continue to the modern-day shrines of Wat Andri, a thriving monastery, and climb the 980 steps of the holy mountain Phnom Santuk, enjoying the colorful, somewhat ecletic shrine at the peak as well as lovely views over the surrounding countryside.

DAY 8: SAMBO PREI KUK – ANGKOR WAT

Visit Sambor Prei Kuk: Sambor Prei Kuk, which is dotted with hundred Pre-Angkor styled temples. The site, part of the Chenla Kingdom, includes an area of nearly 1000 acres enclosed by double walls, and hundreds temples and towers; its construction predates Angkor Wat by several centuries. The road conditions are very poor, but the spectacular scenery, with a mixture of temples and forest makes the hardship all worthwhile. After seeing this landmark we make our way towards Siem Reap and pass through various Khmer traditional villages.

On route you may wish to stop off in Kampong Kdei, to look at Spean Pratos – an ancient Angkorian bridge. About 35km from Siem Reap we turn on brand new road that leads to the edge of the lake.

Before arriving Siem Reap, we take a local boat to Kampong Khleang, meaning the village of the stilts, a lively commercial fishing village located south on the edge of the Tonle Sap lake. All houses are stilted and some are up to four & five meters tall. Enter the stilted village, now flooded and travel through this large town through to a more separate Vietnamese village on to the edge of the Tonle Sap.

DAY 9: ANGKOR WAT

In morning, by TUK TUK explore the Angkor complex include the South gate of Angkor Thom and Giant Faces of Bayon, Baphoun, Elephant Terraces, Leper King Terrace, the Royal Palace area.

Afternoon visit Ta Prohm & Angkor Wat.

The day ends with a visit to Phnom Bakheng Mountain where we climb to its summit for a spectacular sunset view over the surrounding landscape.

DAY 10: SIEM REAP TEMPLES TOUR

In the morning, start the tour at 07:00am, we drive through the beautiful countryside landscapes of Cambodia to visit Banteay Srei temple & Banteay Samre Temple.

In the afternoon, visit Beng Mealea temple, built By Jayarvaman VII; in the style of Angkor Wat; its scale is huge; being well over one square Kilometre within its moat. Approached by a four cause ways; Beng Mealea appears to be a huge pile of rubble partially hidden in the trees. Once you get closer the high walls, the ancient Khmer Architecture reveals itself. Cloaked in vegetation and with few concessions to tourism; this temple looks like it would have done when the early French explorers found it.

Then, end of the day with visit Rolous Group including of Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko temples.

DAY 11: SIEM REAP – DA NANG – HOI AN

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to airport for flight to Danang airport.

DAY 12: HOI AN FULL DAY CITY TOUR

Morning take a walking tour to Hoi An ancient town. Visit Thang Loi Handicraft workshop in Phan Chu Trinh Street. You will have the chance to experience all the typical traditional handicraft of Hoi An, such as wood carving, mat weaving, lantern making, silk worm raising, spinning and weaving, table cloth making and embroidery picture. These handicrafts made great contribution to upgrade living standard of local people since Hoi An turn to be popular destination for the tourists. Then take a walk to Hoi An ancient town. We will start the walk from small alley from Phan Chu Trinh Street to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street. This is the typical ancient street of Hoi An, that can show you great atmosphere of the ancient town. Visit the Japanese Cover Bridge – the symbol of Hoi An. After that visit Tan Ky, the most well-known and authentic ancient house in town. Then take a walk along the Nguyen Thai Hoc – the ancient street of Hoi An to the market of the town. Visit the local market and Phuc Kien Congressional Assembly Hall, the communal place for Chinese community from Fukien province in China as well the worshiping temple to Thien Hau, the Goddess protecting people on the sea – that was so important for the Chinese Merchant and Fishman in the past. Then enjoy the cooking class in Morning Glory Restaurant.

Afternoon depart for the cyclo trip to Cam Nam Village (this is exclusive discovery feature of ICT). The cyclo will take you from the town to Cam Nam Bridge. You will have the first stop for the photo opportunity of the activities and scenery on the Thu Bon River. Then the cyclo will take you along the Thu Bon River bank, where you can have another photo stop for panorama view of Hoi An from other side of river. You will ride along the riverside and cycle through local villages of Cam Nam. This is untouched area by tourism with very friendly and hospitable local people. You can see their daily life activities or even viewing the interior of their house and their life through always opened doors. The cyclo trip will be ended at green small canal covered by water coconut trees. Embark on the boat and take a cruise to Thu Bon River. You can experience the local daily life along river, such as fishing, farming, catching clam …. Come back to Hoi An around sunset time.

DAY 13: DISCOVER CHAM ISLANDS

08h00: a local guide and car will pick you up and transfer you to Cua Dai harbor for speedboat to Cham Island. Arrive Cham Island, enjoy the nice view of Au Thuyen typhoon shelter, you walk through rice field to visit Hai Tang Pagoda. Then a boat picks up and move to one of the snorkeling areas for watching beautiful coral and fishes. After this, you come back to the island for lunch and relaxing in the white sand beach. At around 13h30 return to Hoi An by speed boat. The rest of the day is your leisure before departure time to the airport for the flight home.

DAY 14: HOI AN FREE DAY

DAY 15: HOI AN – DA NANG – HANOI

Free at leisure until the time transfer to airport for flight to Hanoi.

Upon arrival, Upon arrival, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – the symbol of the country and Presidential Palace, Presidential Garden, his House on Stilts and One Pillar Pagoda in the area nearby.

Afternoon visit Ethnology Museum in which you can study the great outline of 54 ethics people living in Vietnam. This museum is the only one in Vietnam that many artifacts display in there still exist in the life of local people but not extinct like most of the museums, that will create very good reflection about the life, culture, customs, religions and costumes of Vietnamese people.  Back to the center of the city for the short walk to discover the Old Quarter. Your tour will be concluded with great experience of Water Puppet show – the unique art of Vietnamese people from Red River Delta.

DAY 16: HANOI – HALONG BAY

In the morning drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay by Red River Delta with beautiful rice field and activities of local people along the way. Upon arrival to Halong, embark to the Junk on Hon Gai International Harbour. You will be welcomed by the cruise staff, enjoy the welcome drink, cruise briefing then check in your cabin. The junk will start cruising on magnificent Bai Tu Long bay while you enjoy lunch on board. It also a great chance to admire the fascinating rock formations in the bay. In the afternoon you will visit the secluded cave of Thien Canh Son then take a short cruise to Hon Co Island where you can relax on a white sandy beach, swimming or kayaking. Back to the Junk, relax and get ready for dinner.

DAY 17: HALONG – CON SON KIEP BAC TEMPLE – HANOI – LUANG PRABANG

In the morning you can admire the sunrise on the bay from sun deck of the Junk. Enjoy the bay’s morning landscape with a cup of tea or coffee then have the breakfast in the open air. After breakfast, you will have a chance to visit Vung Vieng fishing village in a rustic rowing-boat, meet the local people and pass through the floating school and fish farms. Then back to the junk for more leisure time for swimming in the middle of the bay. The cruise will be back to the harbor while an a la carte lunch is served. At noon, disembark to the port and drive back to Hanoi.

On the way back to Hanoi, visit Con Son Kiep Bac Temple – known as the birthplace of celebrity Nguyen Trai – a famous person in Vietnam, Hai Duong is one of the interesting and wonderful place to discover and experience. The province offers tourists a lot of beautiful and fantastic landscapes and historical sites to visit. Then drive to Noi Bai airport for flight to Luang Prabang .

DAY 18: LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU CAVE

After breakfast, you will first visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. We then take an excursion (a few hours) by boat, upstream on the Mekong to visit Pak Ou cave in the side of a lime stone cliff and opposite of the mouth of the Mekong and Ou rivers. The sanctuaries at Pak Ou consist of two large caves, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images, which range from mere centimeter to two meters in height.

En route, Lao typical villages are barely visible behind a screen of foliage. Slender canoes bobbing by the shore, bamboo poles and floats mark the location of nets and fish traps. Our first stop will be at Ban Muangkeo, a well-known village for Lao traditional rice whisky, namely Laoh-Khao to be distilled. We are welcome to taste it and also take away. Lunch is at a riverside restaurant.  We arrive back at LuangPrabang in late afternoon, and continue by car to outskirt of town to visit Ban Xangkhong, a well-known village for its wood paper making and also Lao silk weavings with natural dyes.

DAY 19: LUANG PRABANG – KUANGSI WATERFALL

Wake up as the sun rises, we will prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets.

From there, we will visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. Just set on the ground, the local people come here to barter their day’s catch from rice, to vegetable, to fish, or chicken. This is the best chance to experience the flavor of local life

An morning breakfast, before we take a drive (30 km South) to visit Kuangsi Waterfall, which, though not very high, is spectacular and really beautiful with its green surroundings as the preserved National park. We stop en-route, to visit a fresh produced market namely TaladPhosy,and also visit Ban Na Oune, a small village of a hill-tribe group “Hmong”, probably the best-known minority group in Laos. Just before arriving at Kuangsi waterfall, there is another village of Khmu minority group, namely Ban Tha Pane that we will visit. Our lunch is served at the Butterflies Park nearby Kuangsi waterfall. There is plenty of time for relaxing and a swim in cool water, before we head back to LuangPrabang in the late afternoon. The rest of the day is spent by visiting various craft-shops, including silver smiths’ and also Hmong market in town, where some skilled embroidery-works of Hmong ladies can be seen.

DAY 20: LUANG PRABANG – PHA TAD KE GARDEN – DEPARTURE

The Pha Tad Ke boat departs Ban Wat That at 9:00 (please be at the pier at 8:45). Enjoy a 15-minute leisurely boat trip down the Mekong River. Upon arrival at Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden reception you will be given a short presentation about the gardens. After that walk through the Ginger Garden and the Ethno-botanic Garden, which is the centrepiece of the garden. Follow the path through the Limestone Walk and take in the amazing mountainous Mekong landscape. Learn how to make a bamboo stick animal at the site of the hunting lodge of the former royal family. Then continue your tour of Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden walking through the Arboretum, Palm Garden and Bamboo

to our viewpoint that overlooks the rice fields. Stop by the Mist House where you will learn more about the importance of biodiversity conservation. Finish your excursion with an optional orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery. All of the gardens will have introductory panels and labels. You can always ask our expert staff should you have any questions or require more information. Enjoy a delicious Lao set lunch at the Pha Tad Ke café before taking the boat back to Luang Prabang.

 You are then free to stroll around, or enjoy some last-minute shopping before taking the departure flight. Our driver will transfer you to airport for flight back home. End of Indochina Tour.
